Fibo expanded clay U-blocks for monolithic ring beams, 5 MPa

Fibo U-blocks are expanded clay concrete blocks that serve as permanent formwork for monolithic concrete and reinforced concrete ring beams. The dimensions are matched to the Fibo Efekt 200, 250 and 300 mm blocks – the width and height of the U-blocks are the same. The blocks are laid into the wall, reinforcement is placed in them and they are then filled with concrete.

• Compressive strength 5 MPa, density 900 kg/m³
• Thermal conductivity λ 0.26 W/mK, fire safety class A1
• Height 185 mm; length 240 mm (200 mm for the 300 mm wide block)
• For reinforcement, at least 2 steel bars Ø 10 mm, positioned one above the other on spacers, as far apart as possible
• After concreting, a protective mortar layer at least 15 mm thick must remain around the bars

Where to use

For monolithic ring beams under floors, roofs and beams, and for other structures that need an even load distribution. The loads and the required reinforcement are calculated by the structural engineer in each case.
