Knauf Rippenstreckmetall is a galvanised steel mesh reinforced with ribs that serves as a plaster carrier. It makes it possible to apply base plaster to unstable walls and ceilings, for example to old, crumbling masonry columns, and the small mesh holes hold the plaster layer well.

Where to use
For walls and ceilings with an unstable substrate. The substrate must be dry and have good load-bearing capacity; the plaster is applied in two stages – first onto the mesh with a flat trowel, then a plastering straightedge is used to form an even, smooth layer.
